Belvedere shutters two Finnish nickel mines

Belvedere Resources Ltd. has placed its Hitura and Sarkiniemi nickel mines in Finland on care and maintenance until further notice, citing the falling price of nickel and the dismal economic environment.
"We—and every other nickel producer—are suffering from very hard times," a spokesman for the Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said.....
