Aluminum scrap exports fall 16.1% in Oct.

The decline in U.S. aluminum scrap exports continued in October, falling by 16.1 percent to 138,913 short tons from 165,592 tons the previous month and down by 39.9 percent from the year's peak of 231,206 tons in July.
Shipments to several significant destinations—Taiwan, Mexico and Thailand—were down by more than 50 percent from their 2008 monthly peaks, while exports to Canada, Japan and India were down by less than 25 percent from their 2008 peaks.....
