Alcan denies plans to drop Iceland smelter expansion

Rio Tinto Alcan has denied it plans to scrap a capacity increase at its Straumsvik aluminum plant in Iceland.
Reports that the project is cancelled are false, and studies on the proposed expansion project are progressing, a spokesman for the Montreal-based company said.....
