Global stainless production rises 6.8 percent in third qtr.

Global stainless steel production increased 6.8 percent to 6.3 million tonnes in the third quarter compared with the same period last year, but that trend is unlikely to continue, according to the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF), Brussels.
Global stainless steel production for the first nine months of 2008 totaled 21.1 million tonnes, up 0.7 percent from a year earlier, according to preliminary ISSF figures.....
