Timken scaling back over Christmas

Timken Co., Canton, Ohio, will temporarily reduce its work force by around 200 workers for about two weeks over the Christmas holiday as it copes with the impact of a slowdown in steel and bearings orders.
"It's just what we're seeing everywhere," said Randy Feemster, president of United Steelworkers' union Local 1123, which represents about 2,434 hourly production and maintenance employees at Timken's steel and bearings operations in Canton.
