Ferrocolumbium tariff break sought for Reference Metals

A substantial tariff break on ferrocolumbium is being sought by Rep. Tim Murphy (R., Pa.), incoming vice chairman of the House Steel Caucus, for Reference Metals Co.
The suspension of a 5-percent tariff for Reference Metals, a Bridgeville, Pa.-based unit of Brazil's Cia. Brasileira de Metalurgia e Mineração (CBMM), is one of hundreds of tariff-suspension requests made by congressmen that were still pending when the House recessed last week. The tariff has been in place since July 1 under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP).
The suspension requests are expected to resurface in the next Congress, which starts in January, possibly attached to new trade negotiation authority for Barack Obama.....
