Peñoles may postpone zinc expansion project

Mexican mining company Industrias Peñoles SAB de CV could put off plans to expand its main zinc refinery by 48 percent due to lower demand.

The Peñoles board is putting the finishing touches to its 2009 budget, a company spokeswoman said, and could decide as early as the second week of January whether to delay investing in the refinery in the northern state of Coahuila. Production next....
