Republic idling Lorain mills for 2 weeks

Republic Engineered Products Inc. plans a two-week idling of the 9- to 10-inch special bar quality (SBQ) mill and 20-inch rolling mill at its Lorain, Ohio, hot-rolled bar facility, according to a union official.
The two operations will be taken off-line in the week of Dec. 21 and are slated for a tentative restart on Jan. 5, according to Dan Bolden, president of United Steelworkers union Local 1104.....
