Metalformers expect difficult first quarter

Metalforming companies in the United States and Canada are marginally more optimistic than they were a month ago, but they still expect business conditions to remain difficult during the first quarter, according to the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), Independence, Ohio.
Of the 157 metalforming companies surveyed in the United States and Canada, 6 percent expect business conditions to improve compared with just 3 percent of those in the November survey. Some 63 percent of companies surveyed this month expect conditions to decline, a slight improvement over 70 percent a month ago.....
