Worthington posts $159.5M loss on lower demand, prices

A decline in demand, particularly in the construction market, and a fall-off in steel prices were responsible for Worthington Industries Inc. falling into the red in its fiscal second quarter.

Worthington posted a net loss of nearly $159.5 million for the three months ended Nov. 30 in contrast to net income of more than $14.7 million in the same period last year despite a 4.4-percent increase in sales to $745.4 million.....
