Aluminum shipments down sharply

U.S. aluminum shipments totaled 1.495 billion pounds in November, down 15.2 percent from 1.763 billion pounds the previous month and down 19.5 percent from 1.857 billion pounds in November last year, according to the Aluminum Association, Arlington, Va.

Shipments of aluminum mill products totaled 908 million pounds in November, off 19.9 percent from a year earlier, while shipments of aluminum ingot for castings, exports and destructive uses totaled 587 million pounds, down 18.9 percent in the same comparison.....
