MMX secures port services contract

Brazilian mining and metals company MMX Mineração e Metálicos SA has won the private bidding process promoted by steelmaker Cia. Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) and secured port services at the terminal in Porto de Itaguaí, located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, MMX said in a statement.
Valid for at least three years beginning January 2009, the contract calls for shipments of 1.2 million tonnes of iron ore next year, followed by 2 million tonnes in both 2010 and 2011. The contract can then be renewed for an additional three years. MMX will pay CSN an undisclosed fixed amount per tonne shipped in....
