Beam resale tags don’t mirror mill hikes

Mill prices for wide-flange beams might be due to rise with the New Year, but the resale market still doesn't reflect the increase.
Nucor-Yamato Steel Co., Blytheville, Ark., earlier this month said it would increase its raw materials surcharge by $70 per ton in January but reduce its base price by $35 per ton, resulting in a $35-per-ton net increase in the transaction price (AMM, Dec. 16).
