Asian buys boost US stainless exports 14.6% in Oct.

Asia's specialty steelmakers continued to scoop up all the available austenitic stainless steel scrap from U.S. docks in October, boosting their intake by nearly 15 percent from the previous month's tonnage.

Exports of 18-8 scrap rose to 92,299 tonnes during the month, up 14.6 percent from 80,542 tonnes in September, according to the latest data from the U.S. Commerce Department. Through the first 10 months of this year, exports increased to 880,462 tonnes, up 23 percent from 715,646 tonnes in the same period last year.....
