China’s Zijin plans new smelter

Zijin Mining Group Co. Ltd. plans to build a 200,000 tonne-per-year copper smelter, with commissioning set for the second half of 2012.

The smelter, in China's Fujian province, will require 700,000 tonnes of copper concentrate annually when it is operating at full capacity. Zijin's captive mines will....
