Lead and zinc molds go for 83¢ in military auction

The U.S. Defense Department's scrap sales auction program valued an offering of zinc and lead aircraft wing molds at 83 cents a pound last week.
The winning bid was $51,000. The unit value is calculated to include both the formal bid and a 10-percent surcharge that buyers must pay.....
