Brass ammunition value jumps to $2.65/lb. in military auction

Brass ammunition scrap averaged $2.65 a pound in an auction of U.S. Defense Department material, rebounding from the unexpected $2.26 trough Oct. 2 and $2.52 in mid-September.

Five companies submitted winning bids totaling $760,769 for seven lots, with implicit values ranging from $3.14 a pound and $2.63 a pound for material in Georgia, $2.87 a pound in Indiana, $2.68 a pound in Washington, $2.58 a pound in California, $2.55 a pound in Nevada and $2.51 a pound in Utah.....
