China set to phase out electricity discounts for metals industries

The Chinese government has asked all local authorities to cancel lower electricity fees available to all aluminum and zinc smelters, as well as ferroalloy and steel plants.
Fees for ferroalloy plants should be abolished by the end of this week, while discounts for aluminum smelters should be reduced by 0.5 yuan (0.7 cent) per kilowatt hour by the end of this year, or abolished for those whose discount....
