BorgWarner output of dual-clutch transmission modules set to surge

BorgWarner Inc., Auburn Hills, Mich., has laid plans to boost production of dual-clutch transmission modules fivefold during the next six years, citing its first-to-market position in the product area.
At full launch under contracts in 2012 and 2013, the company expects to provide its DualTronic technology for 2.3 million dual-clutch transmissions each year, executives said. Less than 450,000 of these transmissions are produced currently, all of which....
