Most day-shift workers back on the job Wise

About 73 percent of United Steelworkers union members assigned to the day shift at Wise Alloys LLC reported to work Thursday, the company said, making it almost certain that the Muscle Shoals, Ala.-based aluminum sheet producer will succeed in outsourcing 200 maintenance jobs.
"If the USW (members) go back in, we're not going to have a whole lot of leverage left," said Steve Peters, president of International Association of Machinists Local 1189, which represents 45 of the 200 affected workers.....
