Brass scrap values average $2.27/pound in military auction

Brass scrap from artillery shells was valued in a range of $1.89 a pound for material in Louisiana to $2.93 a pound in Illinois in an auction this week of U.S. Defense Department scrap.
The average of $2.27 for the five lots offered is at the low edge of the recent range for military brass scrap, with auctions in September and October averaging from $2.26 to $2.65 a pound.....
