Tungsten export tax said in line to jump to 15% beginning Jan. 1

The Chinese government might raise export taxes on ammonium paratungstate (APT) and ferrotungsten to as high as 15 percent starting Jan. 1.

"The increase for APT could be between 5 and 10 percentage points on top of the present 5 percent, and 5 percentage points for ferrotungsten, which already comes with a 10-percent tax," a major tungsten trader....
