US lawyer joining WTO Appellate Body

The World Trade Organization (WTO) has appointed four new judges to its seven-member Appellate Body, including Jennifer Hillman, an Indiana Democrat who served on the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) from August 1998 to December 2006.
A U.S. trade lawyer who represented the domestic steel industry at the ITC during Hillman's tenure described her as a "stickler for legal and factual detail" who "positioned herself at the middle." While at the ITC, he said, "Hillman witnessed the WTO overstep its bounds."....
