Transport woes ease as economy, steel output slow

The slower economy and resulting reduction in steel output are making truck transport of metals much easier than this time last year, several trucking and metals-related company representatives said on the sidelines of AMM's Moving Metals conference in Atlanta.
"There's so much more capacity now," a Midwest trucking company manager said. "The economy is slowing—housing and automotive are down."....
