Xstrata to fast track projects in partnership with Bechtel

Xstrata Plc's pipeline of copper projects could be fast-tracked following a deal with engineering and construction company Bechtel Corp., San Francisco, Xstrata said Wednesday.
The alliance will see the design of "a replicable copper concentrator and other facilities that could be applied to Xstrata Copper's individual projects," Xstrata said in a statement issued from Santiago, Chile, Wednesday.
"This will enable the early ordering of long lead time items and reduce the engineering time and costs on individual projects. It will also provide construction efficiencies," the Zug, Switzerland-based metals producer said.....
