Lead scrap exports hit 12-month high in September

Higher shipments of lead scrap to Canada and South Korea in September pushed offshore sales to their highest level during the past 12 months.

U.S. exports of the heavy metal rose to 12,683 short tons, according to the latest data from the U.S. Commerce Department, up just 1.4 percent from 12,510 tons in August but the highest monthly total since September last year, when U.S. exporters delivered 14,761 tons to foreign lead smelters.....
