Infrastructure failing to keep pace with needs

Improvements in U.S. infrastructure have not kept pace with the logistics needs of the metals industry and other sectors, Jim Pacileo, director of Informa ShipNet Services, said on the sidelines of AMM's second annual Moving Metals Conference in Atlanta.

Each mode of transportation—rail, truck and barge—faces its own set of challenges, but one thing they have in common is a lack of long-term planning and investment, he said. "There hasn't been much action on improving transportation infrastructure."....
