Slowing US economy, output cuts help to ease some transport woes

The weakening U.S. economy and a related production slowdown are making truck transportation of metals much easier than this time last year, several trucking and metals-related company representatives said on the sidelines of AMM's second annual Moving Metals Conference in Atlanta.

"There's so much more capacity now," a Midwest trucking company manager said. "The economy is slowing; housing and automotive are down."....
