Minmetals, Jiangxi to acquire Northern Peru for $450 million

Northern Peru Copper Corp. has signed an agreement of support for a cash takeover offer by state-owned China Minmetals Nonferrous Metals Co. Ltd. and publicly traded Jiangxi Copper Co. Ltd., the Vancouver, British Columbia-based miner said Thursday.
The offer of Canadian $13.75 ($13.60) a share values Northern Peru at C$455 million ($450 million). Shareholders holding 42 percent of Northern Peru's stock have signed lock-up agreements in support of the deal, which the company's board supports.....
