MMI charges Colorado law is unfairly targeting its yard

Metal Management Inc. (MMI) has filed a lawsuit against Colorado Springs, Colo., law enforcers and the state's attorney general, charging that its scrapyard has been unfairly targeted by a new law designed to thwart auto thieves.
"Law enforcement officers are exceeding and abusing their authority in their manner of enforcement (of the law)," the Chicago-based scrap processor's attorneys charged in a civil suit filed in El Paso County Court.
Named as defendants in the lawsuit are the city of Colorado Springs, Police Chief Richard Myers, El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa, Fourth Judicial District Attorney John Newsome and Colorado Attorney General John Suthers.....
