Boeing expects to achieve stretched schedule for 787

Boeing Co.'s new 787 Dreamliner isn't due for another delivery stretch-out, the program's top executives said Tuesday.
Pat Shanahan, vice president of Boeing Commercial Airplanes and general manager in Seattle of the 787 program, said in a conference call that Boeing is looking to ramp up its production rate and meet its goal of 109 planes delivered by the end of 2009. Shanahan is a former defense aeronautics specialist brought in two months ago after Boeing delayed the first flight of the plane by three months and the projected first delivery of the 787 by six months.....
