Russia’s Kumz lands Boeing supply agreement

JSC Kamensk-Uralsky Metallurgical Works (Kumz) of Russia and its U.S. sales agent, A.S. Mill Products Inc. (ASMP), Red Bank, N.J., have signed a long-term supply agreement with Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Renton, Wash., a unit of Chicago-based Boeing Co.

"This agreement with Boeing is a step forward in the ongoing development of the Kumz plant," Vladimir I. Skornyakov, president, said in a statement.

Kumz said it has invested more than $100 million over the past two years upgrading casting, rolling and heat-treat capabilities at its Chkalovsky plate facility. "We consider Kumz to be an enterprise of the highest technological level, and our development strategy will continue to elevate our position among leading suppliers to the global aerospace industry," Skornyakov said.....
