Scrap export values hit record $1.16B in October

The value of U.S. scrap metal exports totaled a record $1.16 billion in October, inching above the $1.15-billion record set in June and well above the $965-million total in September and $888 million in October last year.
Since the weakening dollar might have played a role, physical quantities could provide perspective.
