Democrats say Doha rules would weaken trade remedies

The chorus of voices opposed to proposed rule changes in the Doha Round of world trade talks grew a little larger and more powerful Thursday.

In a letter sent to the Bush administration's top trade officials, Sen. Max Baucus (D., Mont.), Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D., W.Va.), Rep. Charles Rangel (D., N.Y.) and Rep. Sander Levin (D., Mich.) said they had serious concerns with the recent draft text released by the chairman....
