Boeing’s aluminum puck auction results mixed

The latest auction of aircraft aluminum scrap to be generated at Chicago-based Boeing Co.'s two Washington state aircraft plants during the first quarter produced mixed results.

The Timco division of TST Inc. was the lone winner of aluminum briquetted borings, often referred to as pucks, with the Fontana, Calif.-based aluminum smelter taking all four lots offered for sale.

Timco claimed two lots of borings from Boeing's Auburn, Wash., plant with bids of 74.3 cents a pound and 76.57 cents a pound, up 1.3 to 2 cents from the current quarter's output, which was bought by Spectro Alloys Inc., Rosemount, Minn., for 72.96 cents a pound and 74.56 cents a pound.....
