Baffinland, ThyssenKrupp Steel ink iron ore supply deal

Baffinland Iron Mines Corp., Toronto, said it plans to sell up to 3 million tonnes of iron ore annually to ThyssenKrupp Steel AG.

While it hasn't pulled any ore out of the ground yet, the mining company signed a letter of intent with the Duisburg, Germany-based steelmaker to sell 15 to 20 percent of the 18-million-tonne-a-year initial potential output at Baffinland's Mary River Project, a mining venture in Canada's Nunavut Territory whose ore is primarily earmarked....
