Tennessee lawmakers offering bill to toughen stance on metals theft

A Tennessee legislative panel has filed a bill it plans to introduce in the next session to combat the growing problem of metals theft in the state.

The measure adopted by the General Assembly's Special Joint Committee to Study the Theft of Precious Metals would require those engaged in the scrap metal business to be registered with the state's Department of Commerce and Insurance.....
