Indalex may close Girard plant in early 2008

Indalex Inc., part of Indalex Holding Finance Co., Lincolnshire, Ill., is planning to close its aluminum extrusion facility in Girard, Ohio, during the first quarter as a result of weak market conditions.
The company will meet with representatives of United Steelworkers union Local 4564 in early January in an effort to keep the plant operating, a spokesman said. However, if the meetings fail to change the company's view, the decision to close the Girard facility will become final in January 2008 and the final closing of the plant would come in March, he said.....
