Vale Inco to run Sudbury operations nonstop in ‘08

Vale Inco Ltd., Toronto, expects to see record nickel production from its Sudbury, Ontario, operations in 2008 on the heels of a decision not to conduct an annual maintenance shutdown next year, a spokesman for the company confirmed Tuesday.
Vale Inco's 2008 production in the Sudbury Basin is targeted at 298 million pounds of nickel, an increase of 58 million pounds, or 24 percent, from this year.
Vale Inco's next planned maintenance shutdown is May 2009.....
