Dispute ties up ferrous shipments to Vietnam

A dispute between Vietnam's customs officials and another government agency over the quality of imported ferrous scrap has brought steel production in the Southeast Asian nation to a standstill, according to an Internet news report.
Customs officials are holding 91 containers of scrap steel imported by Anh Trang Co. Ltd. at docks in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon). Customs officials say the imports could cause environmental pollution due to impurities....
