FNX Mining says no to biggest shareholder, yes to a takeover

FNX Mining Co. Inc., Toronto, has declined a request from its largest shareholder, York Capital Management LLC, to put itself up for sale, but it will consider takeover offers, the company said Thursday.
York Capital last month sent a letter to the chairman of FNX Mining, Terrance MacGibbon, advising the company's board to evaluate strategic alternatives that would highlight the value of the company to potential buyers.....
