SDI’s OmniSource buy bites into 4th-qtr. earnings view

Steel Dynamics Inc. (SDI) has cut its fourth-quarter 2007 earnings estimate to reflect its acquisition of scrap recycler OmniSource Corp., though it remains optimistic about North American market conditions.
The Fort Wayne, Ind.-based mini-mill steelmaker said in October that it expected fourth-quarter earnings to be in a range of $1.02 to $1.07 per diluted share. It slashed that range by 7 cents to a range of 95 cents to $1 a share, according to a statement released late Wednesday.....
