World stainless production inches 0.4% higher

Global stainless steel production managed to log a marginal gain in the first nine months of the year, but the winds have definitely turned south as third-quarter output levels declined sharply from the year-earlier quarter, according to preliminary data from the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF), Brussels.
Global output stood at nearly 5.9 million tonnes for the third quarter, down 16.6 percent from nearly 7.1 million tonnes in the year-earlier quarter.....
