World copper production deficit widens ICSG

The world's refined copper production deficit widened in the first nine months of this year as Chinese demand continued to accelerate, according to the latest figures from the International Copper Study Group (ICSG), Lisbon, Portugal.

The production deficit for the January-September period increased to 265,000 tonnes vs. a surplus of 21,000 tonnes in the same period last year. But after seasonal adjustments for world refined usage and production, there was an apparent production deficit....
