Sandvik contract business complete as hike accepted

Sandvik Materials Technology AB has completed contract business, with a hike implemented in November now fully accepted by customers.
The company cited soaring raw materials and manufacturing costs for the now implemented price increase of up to 20 percent on all forms of stainless strip steel for razor blade manufacture (AMM, Oct. 25).
The increase, which went into effect Nov. 1, marked the first in a number of years, the company said, adding that it had been absorbing spiraling increases in raw materials, fuel and energy costs, with little or no opportunity to adjust prices to end-users.....
