China drives 10.8% gain in Oct. aluminum exports

U.S. aluminum scrap exports rose again in October, surpassing 150,000 short tons for the third time this year.
South Korea displaced Taiwan in second place, taking in 18,232 tons, up 10.1 percent from the previous month. It trailed China, which took 91,521 tons of U.S. aluminum scrap, up 12.8 percent.
However, shipments to Taiwan remained high, falling only 5.9 percent to 18,145 tons from 19,287 tons in September, and continued to show a low reported value per pound—less than 55 cents.....
