SDI eyes move into small shapes, Busse says

Steel Dynamics Inc. (SDI) continues to look both upstream and downstream for growth opportunities following its acquisition of scrap processor OmniSource Corp., Keith E. Busse, SDI's chairman and chief executive officer, said.
The Fort Wayne, Ind.-based mini-mill steelmaker is mulling expansion into small shapes as well as processed resources, Busse said. The company is also considering a "new initiative in flat-rolled steel production," he said, without providing additional details on any projects under way.
"I'm not all that concerned about what the Russians are going to do in Ohio or what anyone else is going to do," he said.....
