Rising Comex, tight supply drags copper scrap higher

U.S. copper scrap prices have moved up on a continuing shortage of material and underlining support for higher copper prices on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.

March copper on Comex continued to trade for more than $3 a pound despite losing some ground toward the end of the week. It was trading at $3.09 a pound Friday afternoon, down from the previous day's $3.132-a-pound settlement but up from around $3.07 a pound at the same point a week earlier.....
