W. Coast mills roll Jan. flat-roll prices into Feb.

West Coast producers of flat-rolled steel that pushed through $20- to $40-a-ton price hikes for January now appear likely to roll next month's prices into February, according to market sources.
The region's two major producers of carbon sheet products told customers that January prices will essentially be carried over into the following month, although they have suggested they're likely to go for increases in March if there's no deterioration in the market.
In contrast, large mills in the East and Midwest have announced hikes of $30 a ton on top of January hikes of $30 to $40 a ton.
For January, California Steel Industries Inc. (CSI), Fontana, Calif., told customers it would raise hot-rolled and galvanized sheet by $40 a ton each and cold-rolled sheet by $30 a ton. USS-Posco Industries said it would boost galvanized by $40 a ton and cold rolled by $20 a ton during the same month.....
