US bismuth tags slip further from midyear summit

The spot bismuth market continued its soft landing after a midyear rally that saw prices top $19 a pound.

The lower end of the U.S. price spread widened to $12 to $14 from a previous range of $13 to $14 a pound.

One trader put the market between $12 and $13 a pound, stating that prices were simply continuing a return to normal levels after spiking in the second quarter on the back of speculative buying by traders and panic buying by customers.....
